How can I create a stop-motion photography journal?

Detailed Question:

Hi Guys,

I have a great view and want to create a stop-motion photography journal. I would like to set up a web cam that will take pics of three different views from a single point on scheduled basis and save them to my hard drive. Is this possible? If so which product should I be looking at? Also do you have a suggestion for a hi-res webcam - 1024 by 768 res?

Answer:

To get the pictures from the three different views, you can mount your webcam on a TrackerPod, available from our website, and then run the Surveillance option from the Tools menu of TrackerCam Software, which is a free download from our website. Use the TrackerCam Tuner to set these three Viewpoints for surveillance.

Here is a link to the surveillance section of the manual:

In terms of a hi-res webcam, you can actually use a camcorder. In fact, some of our customers purchase inexpensive broken camcorders from eBay (often a camcorder's tape mechanism breaks and then the camcorder is quickly auctioned off). You don't need the tape to work in order to use the camcorder as a webcam!

If you use a camcorder, you will need to get a PowerPod instead of a TrackerPod to handle the extra weight. TrackerCam software works with both types of Pods.
